6 causes of right side abdominal pain

Pain in the lower right region of the abdomen indicates a health issue within the colon, and for women, it can also involve the right ovary. If the pain is manageable and intermittent, it is likely a minor issue. However, if the pain persists and intensifies, it's essential to consult a doctor to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
Causes of right-sided abdominal pain include:

1- Appendicitis

Commonly causing pain in the lower right abdomen, appendicitis involves the inflammation of the appendix, a small tube located where the large and small intestines meet. Inflammation can lead to sharp pain in this area, accompanied by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fever, constipation or diarrhea, loss of appetite, and bloating.Urgent medical care is crucial since an appendectomy is frequently needed to extract the inflamed appendix. Avoid enemas, laxatives, and medications until consulting with a doctor.

2- Abdominal gas

Difficulty digesting food can lead to increased gas in the abdomen, causing bloating and pain. This can sometimes be felt on the right side. Excessive gas can be a sign of a digestive disorder, lactose intolerance, or diabetes. Other symptoms accompanying indigestion may include bloating, heartburn, nausea, belching, and a bitter taste. Consult a doctor to determine the cause of excessive gas and the appropriate treatment plan.

3- Hernias

Weak abdominal muscles or factors such as lifting heavy objects or straining during bowel movements can cause a hernia. A hernia occurs when an internal organ or part of the intestine protrudes outward. Most hernias occur in the abdomen and can cause right-sided pain. Activities that increase abdominal pressure, like laughing, crying, coughing, or experiencing stress and anxiety, can worsen the pain. Hernia symptoms may include constipation and bloating. Surgery is often the best solution, allowing the doctor to repair the affected abdominal muscles or close the weakened area.

4- Kidney infection

Caused by bacteria that typically originate from the bladder, ureters, or urethra, kidney infections can affect one or both kidneys. Symptoms include discomfort in the right side of the abdomen, back pain, fever, chills, cold sensations, nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, and painful or burning ur

5- Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are formed by the accumulation of minerals and salts within the kidneys. Typically, pain is not experienced until the stones start to shift or travel into the ureter, connecting the kidneys and bladder.
During this process, you may endure intense pain in your back and right side, extending throughout your abdomen and groin, with the pain's intensity fluctuating as the stones move.
Other symptoms might emerge, such as painful urination, urine color changes, and the presence of an unpleasant smell in the urine.
Additional effects of kidney stones include nausea, vomiting, a persistent need to urinate accompanied by high body temperature, and chills.
This issue warrants a doctor's examination and implementation of appropriate measures to break down these stones and eliminate them.

6- Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a prevalent chronic condition that impacts the large intestine, resulting in cramping, bloating, gas, and abdominal pain.  Moreover, it leads to alterations in bowel movements, the presence of mucus in the stool, and diarrhea or constipation.
IBS triggers intense stomach cramps and pain on both sides of the abdomen, occurring frequently. It also affects the back, causing severe pain
